Oh Aunty Em!

There's no place like home,
there's no place like home,
there's no place like home...

Right?

Well if this is home...I'm not sure I'd want to leave munchkin land, (not that I'm claiming I ever have left munchkin land!).

I like my house, it's so cute, but the location...there is nothing here for me.

I feel no connection to it at all.

The situation here and the way we live literally on top of our neighbours stresses me out.

You may well be reading this and thinking...tsk! Ungrateful cow, look at what you've got! More than a lot of people! But trust me...it's time to move away. It's time for Nick and I to LIVE our lives together, have an adventure...

I'm scared!

I know how you feel! I'm moving out of home with 2 friends soon (hopefully! touch wood touch wood touch wood....) and really honsestly can not wait. But at the same time, I'm really honestly pissing myself with fear! BUT a healthy dose of fear is what makes adventures the best kind of adventures! I've found humming the Indiana jones theme tune helps a lot.

There seems to be a lot of change in the air at the moment, miss emma is moving too!

I think change is good. It is scary sometimes, but healthy. It makes life interesting!
Go for it! goodluck!

I high-tailed it to Cornwall from Reading six years ago to escape from a bad situation and stagnation. I had outgrown the place or it moved on and left me behind. I don't regret the decision because it felt like I had no choice. The only thing I would say is that you will need to be comfortable with your own company beyond that which you curently enjoy as an illustrator, until you create a network of friends. And there's no nipping round mum's for a cup of tea, etc.

If I didn't have kid's I would be tempted to make such a move as you are making. I think too many people settle for safe, me included.

In years to come wouldn't it be a bummer to look back on our lives and think sh#t that was really boring!

Moving house an all that is very stressful, so make sure you're being kind to yourself.

But it does stop being scary. Eventually.

If it's the right thing, when the scary stops, it becomes exhilarating!

If it really feels like the thing to do, take a deep breath and step into the darkness!

Good luck.

What happened to France? Sometimes it is scary to think about new adventures but the best thing is to go for them anyway...while you have the chance, the inclination and the means.
